Derek Hengemihle, Deputy Director

Derek has worked with Jumpstart Germantown & Jumpstart Philly since 2020, and now serves as Deputy Director of the loan and training programs. While at Drexel University receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations, he found a passion for real estate development and blight removal during two Co-op experiences with Jumpstart. Derek enjoys helping first-time developers achieve their goals and improving our City's neighborhoods one house at a time. 

In addition to assisting others with their projects, Derek is an aspiring developer himself! He recently started his own single family rehab project in Southwest Philly and is learning the ropes of small-scale development firsthand. In his free time, he likes making music, going hiking/camping, and keeping a healthy aquarium!
